According to the Canada Revenue Agency [CRA], anyone who is registered for GST must file a GST return (even if there is no tax payable).

As your accountant, MJT will ensure your GST return is filed on time. If you are registered personally for GST your GST return must be filed no later than June 15th each year. If you are registered corporately and are registered to file annually, your GST return must be filed 3 months following your year-end. If you are registered corporately and are registered to file quarterly, your GST return must be filed one month following each quarter-end. If your GST returns are not filed by this date, and amounts are owing will be assessed late-filing penalties plus interest.
